Crystal Car Care has had a sometimes confusing history. The Business
was started in approximately 1991 by the Copenhaver family. At this time the
business was located on George Hannum Rd and operated as a car wash,
detail service, quick lube, and light duty repair garage. Nearly four years ago
the business was moved to Stadler st where its primary focus was auto
repair and towing. Soon after the move it was realized by the then owner
Dan Copenhaver, Jr that his ambitions in life had changed and that he was
not going to be able to pursue building a quality family life with his new wife
and put in all the hours at the business. With this decided Dan began
searching for the right candidate to purchase the business his father had
started years before.
Almost two years ago the business was purchased by Steven Miss and
his partner Shelley Seymour. Steve brought to the table well over a decade
of proven performance in retail, dealership, and independent automotive.
Within these areas Steve worked in management, customer service and
repair. In addition Steve worked with at risk youth as a automotive trainer for
the government funded Job Corp program where he was able to transform
the lives of a number of young adults.
Since the purchase of the business Steve has been actively researching
and training in hybrid and electric vehicle technologies while keeping up to
date with conventional automobiles. He has trained on both coasts with
some of the leading experts in hybrid and plug-in technology. Steve hold
Master automobile technician certification in all 8 areas as well as L1
certification in advanced engine controls.
We have purchased property in the state school area right off rt202 where
we are planning to build a newer larger facility to better take care of our
customers and meet the demand of increased business. Our new facility will
be unlike those you have seen, the new business model is partly based on
west coast based repair shops. These shops are designed and operated to
be VERY Eco and customer friendly. Some amenities will include wifi,
organic fair trade coffee, walking trails, outdoor flower garden, and walking
distance to other Belchertown businesses. Look for us summer 09!
